Alfred has nearly thirty years of experience in a wide range of legal fields, with particular concentration in complex business litigation and intellectual property law. He is a Partner of the Intellectual Property and Corporate/Commercial and Business Services practice groups in the Portland office. Fred is one of Maine's most experienced attorneys in intellectual property, antitrust, trade regulation and employment law. He has extensive experience serving international legal and business clients and is recognized for his ability to analyze, negotiate and resolve complex legal problems before litigation becomes necessary. He is a frequent speaker on trademark and employment issues. Fred practiced for 16 years as a partner with the Lewiston, Maine, law firm of Brann & Isaacson, LLP, providing counseling and litigation services. He served more than ten years as counsel to a leading direct marketer, working closely with senior executives, human resource managers and others. He has managed trademark portfolios in the US and throughout the world, especially in the Pacific Rim, and has been active as a designated representative and committee member for the International Trade Association.
