Hugh's current professional responsibilities include the operational design and implementation of programs as Director of the Office of Special Projects for the University of Maine’s School of Economics (SOE). He also serves as Executive Director for the SOE’s Knowledge Transfer Alliance. The position manages and assigns professional staff, faculty consultants, and graduate students in providing economic and organizational advisory for businesses, organizations, and municipalities primarily in Congressional District Two (2) of the State of Maine – Counties including Lincoln to Aroostook. Hugh is fully engaged in accessing and securing large funding opportunities – public and private – as we have a number of projects operating at any one time.

The primary aim of the our program is to work directly with businesses, communities, state agencies, Non – Governmental agencies, Economic Development Districts, as well as municipal leaders in facilitating access to the specializations offered by The University of Maine. It is a model that I developed for the School of Economics as a way of assisting with SOE - University outreach.

Hugh has over 25 years of experience in the private sector – first as a principal partner of a small cap manufacturing company, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for a prominent non-profit in Western New York, and as one of the Principal Partners for a managerial and financial consultancy.
