Introspective Systems is an applied science and engineering firm focused on design and control solutions for complex systems. We use an integrated platform of Introspective Systems developed technologies to rapidly and efficiently develop solutions based upon complex systems science. Introspective Systems scientists and engineers are experts in introspective software solutions; systems that learn new strategies and skills based upon the task at hand improving their own effectiveness. Our first product, SIM•pleXity™, provides an integrated platform for the design of sustainable communities. SIM•pleXity™ provides tools for architects and engineers to explore sustainable design concepts at the earliest stages of design. It gives them control; enabling them to design, model and simulate multiple resource systems and optimize sustainable designs to unprecedented levels. Kay graduated with one of the first sustainability engineering focused degrees in the US. Her career includes time as an energy engineer, architectural designer and business development executive. Additionally, it includes 25 years as an entrepreneur, with experience in founding and running energy efficient focused design/build construction companies. Her first company in Pennsylvania was started when she was still completing her engineering degree and focused on building earth sheltered homes. The companies she has founded provided construction, engineering and business/sales solutions for the construction industry specializing in sustainable technologies including energy efficient buildings, earth sheltered structures, solar PV and hot water, ground source heating technologies and sustainable manufactured housing. Kay has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Energy from Penn State University.
