Wizbe Innovations

Wizbe Innovations was founded in 2006 as a part-time materials science engineering consulting company while the principals worked other full-time jobs. One of the first major projects was the development of Shear Thickening Fluids for parachute safety systems. In December 2010, Stan Farrell and Robert Farrell began working at Wizbe Innovations full-time with the award of a DoD SBIR for the development of a parachute fabric with controllable permeability using shape memory alloys. Wizbe Innovations is focused on applied materials science development with a particular focus and expertise in smart materials and textiles. Revenue sources include ComposiMold reusable mold making materials for small scale mold making and casting applications and R&D through industrial consulting and grants.

Stan Farrell has been involved with product development and commercialization for over 12 years, with direct responsibility for over $8 million dollars in revenue through SBIRs, STTRs, and Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs). Prior to beginning full-time work at Wizbe Innovations, Stan Farrell worked in R&D at Tex Tech Industries, a leader in advanced technology textile design fabrication, and Fiber Materials Inc. Stan has been program manager or program scientist on 4 SBIR Phase II’s, two BAAs, and multiple industrial development programs. He also started and ran Wizbe Cafe in Farmington, ME.
