Pondera Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Bio: William Crain, Esq. has owned and managed private and public corporations for four decades. In 1996, Bill joined the Opioid Antagonist Project, which was based upon the patented discoveries of his uncle, Dr. Stanley M. Crain, Professor of Neurosciences, Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM), as Legal & Business Consultant. When the opportunity to license these patents arose this year, Bill co-founded Pondera and negotiated a licensing agreement with AECOM.

Description of company: Pondera Pharmaceuticals is a socially responsible pharmaceutical development and marketing company with a focus on the use of less addictive opioid and non-opiod compounds for the treatment of pain, drug dependence, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and related disorders. Pondera's Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Stanley Crain, holds 28 granted and pending patents. Pondera plans to develop drugs that are based upon these patents directly, through sublicenses, and in cooperation with the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA). By developing safe and effective drugs that help restore the balance of the opioid receptor functioning in the body, Pondera's vision is to help create a world where addiction to and abuse of opiod pain drugs is a distant memory.
